Debra Russo Houri obtained her Master of Science in
Human Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport,
Connecticut. She is certified by the Clinical Nutrition
Certification Board (CNCB). In addition, Debra is
licensed by the Department of Health in the District of
Columbia (DCHealth). There is no licensure for
Nutritionists in Virginia at this time. Legislation is
pending.
Continuing education through symposiums and
seminars is required to maintain certification and
licensure, and it is of great importance to Debra. As a
Nutritionist, it is extremely important to keep abreast
of new scientific research and advancements. Debra
uses her Blog to share this valuable information with
her clients and the public.
Debra's practice provides services for adults and
children of all ages. Her special clients meeting the
needs of infants and small children include Early
Head Start and Head Start at The Campagna Center,
Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia and WIC (Women,
Infants, & Children program) at the Alexandria
Health Department, Alexandria, Virginia.
